It is almost that time...

Clay had a cardiologist appointment and an echocardiogram at Children's Hospital today.  Although he is not really showing any signs of needing surgery except for being extra sleepy and a little labored breathing, we are expecting a call from the surgery team on Monday or Tuesday to schedule his surgery.  It should be in the next 3-4 weeks.  Dr. Danford said he is seeing an increase in incorrect blood flow through his missing valve, so it is time.  They started Clay on lasix, a medication for fluid retention in people with congestive heart failure, to help keep the fluid out of his lungs.  With mixed emotions about the upcoming surgery, I am sure Luke and I have some sleepless nights in our near future but we are looking forward to getting it over with and having a healthy baby boy!  We really appreciate all the prayers and well wishes for our little man - keep 'em coming!

Tiedeman Christmas

Well, in true Tiedeman fashion we did things a little late.  It was a procrastinators dream - Christmas two weeks AFTER December 25th!  It was a wonderful weekend full of food, hysterical sister laughter, presents, and a few cocktails ;-)

So far, SO good!

Our little man met with his cardiologist, Dr. Danford, at Children's Hospital today.  The doctor was pleasantly surprised at how well Clay is doing!  Because Clay is growing, eating, and breathing with no problems he thinks the surgery will now be a few months away - instead of a few weeks away.  Yay!  A true sign of the power of prayer.  We meet with him again in 3 weeks to reevaluate Clay's progress.  Clay is already a little fighter and we know he will do great when the time does come.
