Homecoming Kings!!!!

Not one but TWO of our friend's had the honor of calling themselves Homecoming Kings this year....and they both just happen to have Down syndrome.

Jacob was crowned king at Papillion LaVista South high school.  1,600 students go to Papillion LaVista and Jacob was voted #1!!!!!

His mom, Denise, is like a walking book of information when it comes to advocating for our kids.  She knows what to ask for and how to get it.  I find her friendship and knowledge invaluable and am lucky to have her in my circle!

Congratulations, Jake!

A million dollar smile!

Kyle was crowned Homecoming King at Oakland Craig.  Kyle is the oldest of 6 kids and an awesome gymnast.  His mom Lisa is one of the sweetest people I have ever met.  Always full of energy and so positive....and remember!?  She has 6 kids!

Oakland Craig is a small school located on Highway 77 about halfway between Valley and Sioux City.  Sometimes I worry about our small, DC West school district and if it will be the best fit for Clay.  Will he fit in?  Will they have the resources he needs?  Hearing this story of success at another small school makes me so hopeful for Clay!

Rock on, Kyle!
